Access to healthcare is proven to reduce recidivism. Studies in Florida and Washington State found that Medicaid enrollment upon release was associated with a 16% reduction in recidivism. Additionally, formerly incarcerated individuals experience significantly higher rates of chronic disease and mental health disorders, with 44% diagnosed with a mental health condition, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

At Reentry Care LLC, we are eliminating these healthcare gaps and creating pathways for stability. By combining insurance expertise, corrections experience, and a passion for reentry reform, we ensure that justice-impacted individuals get the coverage they need—without delays—so they can focus on rebuilding their lives. We partner with correctional facilities, probation, and parole offices to connect with returning citizens immediately upon release, streamlining the enrollment process to ensure they don’t fall through the cracks.

Position Overview

This is a fully remote position for a Reentry Health Insurance Specialist with an active General Lines Life & Health license. The role requires candidates to reside in Texas or Ohio to effectively serve our target communities. Experienced agents must submit a full release for all insurance carriers before contracting. No prior experience is necessary—we can provide comprehensive training.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle Incoming Leads: Reentry professionals working in corrections, probation, parole, and nonprofit organizations will refer returning citizens to our website to complete an intake form. Submissions will be added to our CRM, where you will receive leads to contact.

• Assist with Enrollment: Guide clients through Medicaid and/or Medicare enrollment if they qualify.

• Provide ACA Guidance: Offer insights on Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace coverage for those ineligible for Medicaid/Medicare.

• Educate & Support Clients: Clearly explain healthcare benefits and coverage options, empowering individuals to make informed decisions.

• Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to all state and federal regulations, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Required License: Active and in good standing General Lines Life & Health license.

• Experience:

  • No prior experience required - training is provided.

  • Experienced agents must submit a full release for all insurance carriers.

• Must currently reside in Texas or Ohio.

• Remote Work Requirements:

  • Reliable high-speed internet connection.

  • Ability to work independently in a home office setting.

  • Proficiency with computers and CRM software.

  • Quiet working environment free of distractions.

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex healthcare options in a clear and empathetic manner.

• Organization: Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, ensuring compliance with all regulations.

• Education: No college degree required.
